In complex driving and environmental situations, the validity and confidence of detecting complex traffic situations using only the vehicle’s sensors remains highly error prone. The main goal of VALISENS is to significantly enhance the reliability and trustworthiness of the sensors’ perception of complex situations and make it highly robust against external influences. For this purpose, vehicle sensor data is combined with the infrastructure sensor data through fast, secure, and reliable communication. Using novel data fusion and processing methods, the comprehensive overall situational picture is detected, analysed and evaluated.
